This is an issue that has come up quite often in my speaking engagements, speaking to groups of parents as well as my radio interviews. What issue? The issue of setting boundaries in your household.
Do you set boundaries in your home? Are there rules that everyone must follow? Are your children aware of the rules of your home?
As a mother of 5 children it is imperative to have rules in our home. My husband and I decided long ago, we would have certain boundaries that had to be instilled in order to have a healthy relationship.

Teens have a rough time, because they are in the ‘in-between- stage’. We can’t call them children but we can’t call them adults either. They are experiencing changes within their bodies on a daily basis and let’s not forget the emotional changes!
So, needless to say teens have a rough time!
Along with the normal chaos, teens often suffer from low self-esteem and peer pressure. Females are more prone to self-esteem issues and often get more attention for the problem, but males are just as susceptible. In fact, any teen is vulnerable to self-esteem challenges.

Do you have a child that has developed a bad habit?
Do you wonder how you can break him from the habit without breaking their spirit?
As parents when we see our children developing bad habits such a sucking their thumbs or biting their nails we want to break them from that habit right away. Our immediate reaction is, ’stop sucking your thumb’ or ‘don’t do that!’ Although we truly love our children, we may react in a harsh or negative way when we see them doing what we feel is wrong.

Today, May 7, 2009 is the National Day of Prayer. The day that we as a nation pray together. Considering our nation was founded on Christian principles it makes sense for us as a nation to observe this day with prayer.
But, why wait for one day a year to pray? This is something that I do on a daily basis and have taught my children to do the same.

As a homeschooler we fall into a trap of trying to do it all and sometimes trying to do it all at the same time! I am guilty of that myself. There have been times that I was completely frustrated because I was involved in too many things and became completely and utterly overwhelmed! Do you ever feel that way?
You don’t have to be a homeschooler to feel overwhelmed. Just being a parent can sometimes be overwhelming! While feeling overwhelmed..I was reminded of a simple truth: God willing, there’s time to do it all, just not all at the same time.
