Saved over $50!!

983479_3d_green_dollar_sign_3Yes, it’s true I saved $58 dollars on my grocery bill yesterday!!  Yep, you can close your mouth now, well not you..but that is what I told the cashier.  She was shocked after first seeing me stroll in with 2 grocery carts filled with food, thankfully my hubby joins me on these trips.  Then of course, I handed her my cloth bags to place all the items in, she was not too pleased about that, but I am doing my part in helping the environment.  I had to giggle each time someone would stand behind me in the checkout line and then do a complete u-turn to find another register.  I giggle because I only go to the grocery store one time a month to do this major shopping spree.  I will go to the store one other time during the month and that will usually be for milk or eggs.  So, as I was saying, the cashier was totally shocked after ringing up all my groceries and then running all my coupons through and noticed that I saved $58!!!

I have a family of 7 that is home ALL the time.  Since I homeschool my 5 children, they are always home and you guessed it, always eating.  So, my runyourkitchen-medshopping days are strategically planned.  I will usually go to the produce stand, the dollar store and then to Super Walmart for my main grocery shopping.  I have a system that has saved me literally $100′s each month.  Before treating my kitchen as a business, I spent literally $1600 a month on groceries!!!  Yes, I would go to the grocery store every week without a plan, no coupons and just shopped and spent $400 each time.  I figured that was normal with a large family so I never really thought about it.  Until, one day..after going shopping I looked in the cupboards and refrigerator and realized I didn’t have anything to make a single meal.  It was all JUNK!!!

That is when I put my system in order.  I now go to the grocery store 1 time a month, yes just 1 time a month!  I spend less than $400 each time and have meals for 3 weeks, which include breakfast, lunch, snacks and dinner.  Not to mention that it is for a family of 7 which includes 2 adults and 3 teens.  If you want to learn more about my system, I invite you to take a peek at my program.  It is listed on my products page called: Save 100′s- Run your Kitchen as a Business. Believe me it works!! You can see from my past posts the menu’s that I develop and they are all made from scratch with one day for a treat..our take-out Thursday’s.  If I can do it … so can you:)

Have a Fabulous day!!

The Chronicles continue…

If I don’t have to have the manager come and do an over-ride, than I know I haven’t done my grocery shopping “job.” :)

I also homeschool a family of 7(5+2)! And yes it can be expensive! Your book looks great, I’ll forward this on the the other large families that I know. Amazingly they are all homeschoolers! Why is that?
