Time to Celebrate the Season
My Chronicles — By Dr. Mommy on December 7, 2009 at 1:35 pmI truly love this time of year! I can’t say that I like the cold weather, but am thankful that where I am located we do not experience freezing weather or snow.
This season has already begun with baking and decorating and Christmas shows, not to mention the non-stop Christmas music on the radio stations. However, are we focusing on the commercial aspect or the true meaning?
We have been guilty of getting caught up on the commercial side but I vowed to change that and so far it has been working. So, what are we doing to make it different? We have decided to make this season a more memorable one and focusing on our family time and traditions.
Just this past week, my husband and I celebrated our wedding anniversary. It was a beautiful event and to celebrate we were invited to a wonderful event at Epcot Holidays Around the World. I must say, that this was a gift, I did not pay for the tickets for this event, but am very grateful I attended.
This event was another way for us to Celebrate the Season. This particular event is called the Candlelight Processional. Although I knew the title of the event, I was extremely surprised. It was absolutely a beautiful event. This event consisted of several high school choirs from around the United States. Along with these guest choirs were the Walt Disney World Cast Choir, The Voices of Liberty and the Walt Disney World Orchestra. WOW!! It was truly amazing.
This event was also narrated by a special guest and our guest happened to be Steven Curtis Chapman, one of my all time favorite Christian artists. What a wonderful treat!! I was so grateful for this invitation and the entire performance. All the songs were beautiful Christmas songs we are all familiar with and the True Story of Christmas was narrated by Steven Curtis Chapman.
This particular event continues through the end of December. If you have the opportunity to visit Epcot, I highly recommend this glorious event.
To see a variety of people, sitting in complete awe and amazement was a beautiful sight. Again, I must state that the tickets to this event were a gift, but I will truly be visiting again next year and bring my entire family because it is a perfect way to begin this truly beautiful season.
Merry Christmas everyone!! Don’t get caught up in all the hype and be afraid to enjoy this blessed season, and say the words ‘Merry Christmas’.
