My mission….
My Chronicles — By Dr. Mommy on November 5, 2009 at 8:42 pmI believe everyone has a mission or goal in their lives, whether they are aware of them or not.
Mine is to help others. Yes, help others!
For as long as I can remember that is all I’ve wanted to do. Coming from a very strict, Hispanic upbringing is not one I care to remember much.
However, I believe that I had such a childhood for a reason. At the time I did not understand why I endured not only verbal, but physical and sexual abuse.
There…it is written and now I can let it go. That is something that has lived with me for a very long time but instead of carrying it around like baggage, I would rather use my experiences to help others.
I completely understand what it is like to suffer needlessly. It was horrible, but a learning experience for me. I can relate with those that are hurt, both physically and emotionally.
I can relate and help. I now realize that I am not here to be a sounding board for such women, but here to help, motivate and encourage them.
Fast forward to the present.
I am a doctor by profession, devoted wife to a loving and supportive man and mom to 5 beautiful children. Yes, 5 children!
I remember saying when I was growing up, how I would never have children. I never wanted my child to ever suffer how I did. But, I met a man that changed all that for me and now I have a beautiful family.
My choice was to get out of my past and make something of myself. Something and someone I could be proud of. Because for a very long time, I did not like myself. I thought some how, or some way, I was to blame for all the abuse I endured.
But, I made it! I survived and continue to survive! I have learned to use my experiences to help women. I love helping others. I chose a career of health and wellness so I could help others.
Now with my education and my experiences both the good, bad and the ugly, I can truly help and touch many souls. Yes, my mission is to encourage and empower women to be the best that they can possibly be.
If I can survive, so can you! If I can have a loving family, so can you! If I can have a business to be proud of, so can you!!
Anything and all is possible if YOU decide it will be.
So my mission is to help moms, with their health, their wealth and most of all their sanity.

Respectfully,

Wow Daisy! I had no idea you have endured so much. You are a wonderful example of so many great character traits…clearly they were hard earned and now you truly are an example to others. But the best part is you are sharing that, helping others grow that strength and resolve in themselved. I’m so grateful to have met you in person and hear your voice through every heartfelt word. You are truly an inspiration and anyone who can work with you will be so blessed to be sure!
Thanks Molly:) I know that there is always a reason for what we must endure, whether it is something we agree with or not. Just glad I can use it for the positive..
Hi there Dr. Mommy!
Thank you for sharing your mission and story. We have so much in common. It’s a such a reassuring thing to find similarities in “strangers.” And isn’t it just so wonderful that the most horrific crimes against a person can be turned into a blessing for others?
It’s how I have approached my abusive childhood as well. Pass onto others what my journey has taught me.
My life is a living testimony to the power of forgiveness, love really. And clearly yours is as well.
Thanks for sharing and giving me an opportunity to reflect.
Wishing you peace and light, always.

It is amazing to find similarities in ’strangers’ but I’m afraid there are many of us out there afraid to accept and move on… That is why I felt the need to share my life and my mission and let people know the ‘real’ me… Honesty is very important and the more transparent one is the better in able to help others.
