Aluminum Foil – not just for cooking

Tips — By Dr. Mommy on October 10, 2009 at 3:26 pm

You are probably wondering about the title of this post, but below I will share some unique ways you can use aluminum foil; it’s not just for cooking anymore.

  • Scrub your pots and pans – If you run out of your handy dandy steel wools, no worries you can use foil. Just ball up a piece of aluminum foil and scrub away..it works!
  • Speedy Ironing – To cut your ironing in half, place a sheet of foil between the cover and the ironing board. The foil conducts heat to speed up your ironing.
  • No more grimy finger prints – protect your knobs from grimy, slimy little hands. Wrap foil over the sink handles and doorknobs and avoid fingerprints from your little Picasso.
  • No more soup skin – Cut a piece of foil the size of your container and rest it directly on your stew or soup. Cover and store in refrigerator or freezer and say ‘good-bye’ to yucky soup skin.
  • Tie them up – Did you run out of cooking twine? No worries, cut the foil into thin strips and use to tie up the legs of your roaster in oven. A thin strip of foil is the perfect solution.

  • I was just talking with my friend about this yesterday at the resturant. Don’t know how we landed on the subject actually , they brought it up. I do remember having a amazing chicken salad with ranch on it. I digress…
