Mama Knows Breast – A Book Review
Reviews / Giveaways — By Dr. Mommy on July 10, 2009 at 3:37 pmThe catchy title was what intrigued me most about this book. Being a mom of 5 children, whom I breastfed for quite some time, I was very pleased to see this book.
I only wish it had been available when I had my first child. Although the La Leche League was helpful, this book is written by a mom for moms. It is simple to read and it is loaded with information the first time mom would appreciate.
Andi Silverman, the author of this book is a breastfeeding mom but before she became a mom she was a lawyer and journalist and an on-air reporter for CBS and Fox affiliates in Boston. She always knew she would breast feed her children and of course this was instilled in her by her mom who also breastfed her children.
“Mama Knows Breast’ is a beginner guide to breastfeeding and is perfect for the new mom. The advice contained within is informative, friendly but most importantly reassuring. It not only tells you how to breastfeed and why it is important to do so, but it helps with questions first time moms always encounter; such as, what is the best position or the most comfortable position to breastfeed your child, breastfeeding in public, tips on expressing your milk and so much more.
I highly recommend “Mama Knows Breast” – written by Andi Silverman. It will make the best baby shower gift for the first time mom or for moms who may be considering breastfeeding.
Great job, Andi! Thanks for a great book!
