This question was one that arose from our sermon yesterday.  Pastor Eric spoke about passion and what we are passionate about.  Finding that passion is so important and once we find it, it changes our lives.

Being a Christian is something I am very passionate about, but I am not one to memorize scriptures.  You know the type I am speaking about.  I don’t have anything against those folks but quite honestly I choose to share my passion in other forms.

I share my passion through my actions and my words.  I love reading scripture and note how it may apply to my life, but I can’t for the life of me memorize scripture.  I will remember the parables and how they can be applied to certain facets of my life, but again..no reciting of scriptures for me.  It took me a long time to realize this and have come to accept it.  I used to attend a church where scriptures were strongly emphasized and it seemed that everyone was competing against each other.  That was not for me, and I am very glad to not be around those folks anymore, it was actually quite stressful.

So, my passion is obviously my faith but much more than that is how I can use my faith to help others.  My mission and passion work hand in hand.  Since I was a little girl, I felt the need to help others and continue to feel that need today.  I love speaking to parents and sharing my experiences with them.  Their eyes light up when you share experiences they are struggling with, as well as when you share the hope that goes along with it.

I am thankful for the opportunities I have had to learn about health, nutrition, child rearing, homeschooling and so much more. And now I have the ability to share my knowledge with others..so my mission continues, Helping YOU to help your family.

What is your passion?

Here’s an example:

My daughter’s passion is music and always has been.  Although she can’t play an instrument she enjoys music and admires those that can share their talents with others.  Her mission is to share her love of music and help those who may be in pain.

So, again what is your passion?

Is there something that you are passionate about?

Do you share this passion with others?

Please share your answers in the comment section below, would love to read them.

  • Peter says:

Do you do what you are passionate about or what pays the bills? A perennial question, and one that statistics suggest a fairly large percentage answer by choosing what pays the bills in opposition to what they want to do for a career. No sense being passionate about something at the cost of debt and no food on the table.

A pressing question for these folks is how, in time, to merge passion with survival. But then, God never guarantees He’ll give us everything we want or everything for which He gave us a passion. And sometimes we are blessed that God saves us from what we ask of Him.

Aslan is good, but He’s not a tame lion.
