Wouldn’t it be wonderful to feel what your parents felt when they were raising you?  How about understanding what they may have been feeling when they were raising you?

If you do not have those memories to look back on why not create them for your children.

A wonderful way to create a legacy for your children is to write them encouraging notes, and letters and keep them until they are grown.  I have been writing letters to each of my children for some time.  The letters contain joys and struggles I have experienced throughout the years.

My hope is for my children to realize that although I am not perfect, that I tried the best that I could.  It will also help them to understand the role of a parent and may give them some guidance for when they become a parent.  It is a great gift to give your children and something they can look back on.  Realizing the triumphs and challenges of parenting and what a wonderful experience it truly is.

Let’s begin creating a legacy for our children.  It can be in the form of a note, letter, pictures, and videos.  Note that it is important for your child to have these memories and encouraging words from you.  As one that does not have pictures much less a letter, I can’t stress the importance building a legacy is for your family.

Start today creating a legacy.

Such a great idea! And it’s never too late to start. Even if kids are already in their teens, there are moments that can be captured in our own words that they can look back on in the future.
