I Am Blessed

Wow, I am truly blessed! Do you ever wake up and realize how incredibly blessed you are?  I just had one of those days…I mean, I know that I am blessed but today was somewhat different.

It all stemmed from watching my first baby graduate, and now preparing to move out on her own (with a roommate) and preparing for college.
I can still remember her in diapers; watching me with those eyes of admiration.  Now it is I looking at her with eyes of admiration and amazement.

I am amazed at how quickly she has grown and how soon she will grow even quicker into a young adult with responsibilities other than making her bed and helping with household chores.

Just yesterday I was interviewed by Melissa Smallwood on her Blog Talk Radio and it was titled Sharing Our Stories.  I had the opportunity to share my testimony and how I became a follower of Christ.  You see, it was never this easy..I truly struggled during my life and still continue.

But today’s struggles are much more manageable because now I rely on my faith.  Before I thought I was invincible; but I was living a life of confusion, filled with anger.  To see the changes that have occurred I can only deduce it was by God’s grace.

I am truly blessed because I now know that there is someone watching over me.  One that is leading my life and all I need to do is listen.  As stubborn children we tend to think that we can do it all on our own and don’t need help but that is so untrue.  Just listening back at my testimony, I am amazed I survived what I did.  But now I know that it all happens for a reason and that the Lord has bigger and better plans for me.

I have included the link to the interview I had with Melissa and so thankful for the time I spent chatting with her.

Remember life is too short to worry about things that are merely out of your control.  I have learned to live each day as if it were the last and live by my favorite Bible verse, Philippians 4:13. “I can do everything through Him who gives me strength”

I have also learned that I do have a purpose in this life.  All I have been through was so that I can help and guide others, which is my main mission and focus on family ministries.  As a family we can withstand all.  Family is not always a mom and dad but someone who loves, cares and has the best interest in mind.  I am ready for the next chapter in my life and with His guidance I know I will be able to help others and help myself in the process.

  • You know you are such an inspiration to me! Congratulations to your daughter for graduating. I can only PRAY I have enough patience to homeschool my kids all the way through High School. What a blessing that truly is.

You are blessed! I am so happy for you and your daughter. :)
