One of My Missions
Faithful Chronicles, My Chronicles — By Dr. Mommy on February 27, 2009 at 12:15 am
Some of you may know me from other social networks and know that one of my passions is health. Yes, but so much more than just health and wellness. My mission is to help guide individuals into making wise decisions not only about their health but the health of their loved ones.
That is such a broad subject, so I narrowed it down even further when asked. My goal is to provide smart, healthy solutions to balance your life. Yep, that in a nutshell is one of my missions. Let’s face it, in today’s society, we are pretty stressed out. So stressed, that we neglect our bodies. We forget to eat and when we remember we reach for the quickest item which of course tends to be unhealthy, full of preservatives and sugar. Believe me, I completely understand those struggles. It is very easy to reach for a cookie instead of a piece of fresh fruit. And it is just as easy to reach for a soft drink instead of water or even juice.
I have been working very hard the last few months to put a program together that will help guide you in the right direction. I have the help of several experts that will help in the exercise and fitness area, as well as the healthy mind area and even how to organize your life which ultimately leads to optimum health, less stress, less illness and more laughter.
Be sure to look for a major announcement related to this project that I have poured my heart and soul into. It will be great and a wonderful way for others to interact and help each other, with one theme in mind, a healthy and balanced life.
Remember I mentioned that I not only have one mission but I have two?
As a mother of 5 children, it is no surprise that my other mission revolves around children, in particular teens and youth, who happen to be our future. I came from a very sheltered life and promised I would never impose that injustice to my children. Instead I have taken the time to talk to them, communicate and most importantly pray with them. My faith is my driving force and having a not so wonderful childhood has taught me that I am a child of God and that we must put our faith in Him. That is something that I teach my children on a daily basis. We are all God’s gifts and He has also given us gifts to be treasured.
It is unfortunate that the media, in the form of print, music, movies and television have tried to normalize the impurities they display. Our children are bombarded by these acts, lyrics and pictures on a daily basis. It is sad but true.
I can remember back when I was growing up that if a commercial was about woman’s undergarments, the items were displayed on a fully clothed mannequin. Never would I have dreamed that I would see a woman parading in her lingerie as if it were normal. Now, I think I may have given away my age here, but it is disgraceful what our children are faced with these days.
That is why one of my missions is to teach not only the teens and young adults but also the parents the importance of respect, responsibility and renewal. This topic revolves around another project I am working on that I will announce very soon as well.
So, as you can tell, I have been very busy. I have determined my mission and my goals and am moving forward with them. What are your goals? What is your mission? Take some time and think about it and write it down. I was always told, that it will never be true or get accomplished if you do not write it down. Take some time today and determine your mission. Share it with others, go for it, live it and achieve it!
Have a blessed day,

AWESOME! AWESOME! AWESOME!!!!! I am so proud of you
So glad I found you on twitter!
My mission is not far from yours – to help make lives easier. Which includes health. Life isn’t much fun, or very easy if you’re sick.
And I too have been spending a lot of time with my daughter talking about the state of the world. I’m a single mom with a 17 yr. old daughter. We don’t have television signal here, so that cuts out a lot. We live lakefront, so we don’t have a lot of time to miss TV.
I eat healthy, I’ve taught her about eating healthy, I blog about eating healthy, I put up recipes – it’s so important. All this sickness is unnecessary. It breaks my heart. And it doesn’t take that much more time to eat healthy. It only takes a committment to yourself and your family to stay well. Just imagine how much money you’ll save when you don’t need drugs. OK, called me obsessed.
Nice to find a kindred spirit!
