Wow! Only 2 weeks Away!

Can you believe that Christmas is only 2 weeks away? I was in complete shock when I checked my calendar and realized how quickly this year has passed.

I live in awe of God’s grace on a daily basis.  I look at my beautiful children and am completely amazed and in wonder that I gave birth to them and how quickly they have grown.  My oldest son will turn 15 next week and it seems like only yesterday I was moving to Florida after graduating with a 2 year-old and him in my belly.  That just goes to show how quickly time flies.

My momma always used to say ‘Cherish each day as if it were your last’ and now I realized what she meant.  We must enjoy our time with our children and our family because in literally a blink of an eye they are grown and ready to move out on their own.

This holiday season has made me quite melancholy and I’m not sure if it is because my oldest is ready to move on her own or because I am just getting more hormonal! All I can say is that this year has definitely flown and we must remember to sit back and enjoy each moment as if it were our last.

Do you remember the last time your child told you a fascinating story? How about when they came running in from outside to bring you flowers, (well, weeds – but you get the picture)?  When was the last time you sat in your living room with a huge bowl of popcorn and watched a silly movie with your family or loved ones?  Can you remember?

If you can’t remember, it’s time to take action and start today.  Don’t let the days go by without memorable moments.  Don’t go through your day stressed that you can’t hear the little voice of your children.  Cherish those moments because as you can tell they go very quickly.  The year 2008 is almost gone and a new one to begin.  Can we actually take time to sit and enjoy the moment?  You can, just relax.  Life is short, why spend it rushing around to the point that we don’t realize that Christmas is only 2 weeks away.
