Enjoying the Season!
Faithful Chronicles — By Dr. Mommy on December 17, 2008 at 9:46 am
Unlike the many that are going crazy, and are stressed because of the commercialism that this Holi-day has….we are relaxed and enjoying the moment.
The reason for this season is to celebrate our Lord, who came to us as a babe, all along knowing that He would die for our sins.
Our family has a tradition of reading several books depicting the Story of Jesus. We read many of the other stories that my children also enjoy. We have a tradition of hanging ornaments on our Christmas tree, the twelve days before Christmas. Each ornament has a story and bible verse leading to the birth of Jesus Christ.
It is a beautiful scene watching my children listening attentively to the stories although they have heard them in the past. This year I have involved the older children in my family and they are taking turns reading the bible verses and stories on each ‘adornament’. I love this family tradition!
Another tradition we have is the non-stop baking of goodies. We bake every other day and give the goodies to teachers, Sunday School leaders, mailmen, our patients and family and friends. Our house smells yummy for 2 weeks leading to Christmas.
Do you have traditions that you do every Christmas Season? Share them with us… I love to read all the different family traditions.
Wishing you and your family a beautiful Christmas and Happy New Year!!
