My Two Week Menu – incl. Thanksgiving
Meal Ideas — By Dr. Mommy on November 24, 2008 at 9:30 amThis 2 week menu includes my Thanksgiving meal as well. My last menu was a bit disrupted because of family coming into town, but at least I have the ingredients and can add to my existing menu. No worries, if you have the food you can always use it another day, it never goes to waste in my house!
So here’s my 2 week menu:
Week 1
Monday: Stewed Chicken (crock pot) with wild rice
Tuesday: Pasta Verde w/salad and garlic bread
Wednesday: Picadillo w/white rice
Thursday: (Thanksgiving) Turkey and To-furkey, S.Cream mashed potatoes, twice baked swt potatoes, Wild Rice Stuffing, Squash Casserole, Sausage/Veggie Stuffing, Broccoli/Tomatoe Salad, Biscuits, Apple Pie, Pumpkin Pie and Coconut Macaroons
Friday: Quesadillas w/leftover meat
Saturday: Take-out
Sunday: Homemade Mac-n-Cheese and meatloaf

Week 2
Monday: Pizza Night
Tuesday: Peasant Pasta w/garlic bread
Wednesday: Taco Night
Thursday: Take -out Night
Friday: Grilled Chicken w/roasted potatoes
Saturday: Bacon Cheeseburger Pasta
Sunday: Chicken Wraps w/salad

It takes me approximately 2 hours to determine the menu, grocery list and match the coupons and determine which stores we would tackle. Then I give my hubby a list and I take a list and within 2 hours we are home and packing away our groceries.
Now will you take the challenge and shop for 2 weeks at a time? It is difficult at first but once you get used to it you would not have it any other way. With a family of 7 we always have to have our pantry stocked and doing this twice a month is wise and a great money saving tip.
The Chronicles continue…
