My Goals for September
My Chronicles, Organization — By Dr. Mommy on September 2, 2008 at 4:05 pm
So, the first thing I did was to determine what I wanted to accomplish for this month. In order to do that I had to write all my thoughts and goals on paper. After doing that I realized I definitely needed a system in order to accomplish my enormous list.
I took a friend’s suggestion and purchased a blank notebook to write my goals and ideas. I have picked pages for each month and will cross off the tasks as I have accomplished them.
This month will consist of homeschooling my children, which is a major task in itself. I have determined what will be accomplished this month for each child. I have 5 children which are in different grade levels, so their lists are entirely different but manageable.
My next task involved my writing routine. I have decided to take a challenge of writing 30 articles in 30 days. I have made a list of topics along with the articles to write for them and who I will submit them to. I have also developed a marketing plan for my business along with a schedule of my blogs and other commitments.
It feels good to start the month off more organized and with a goal in mind. I hope to be able to accomplish most if not all on my list. The main point to keep in mind is to avoid distractions and keep my goals in mind.
I have also decided to limit my internet time, for that seems to definitely distract me. I developed a schedule with times and limits for each project. There are set times for office work, schooling, marketing, writing and family time. I hope to be able to stick to that as well. My ultimate goal is to be more disciplined and to teach my children by example. If I am more disciplined with my time, they will learn to do the same.
