Wow, it seems that all I have heard lately is baby talk.  Every where I look I see expectant mommies, very pregnant women!!  I may be one of the strange few out there, but I actually miss being pregnant.  I enjoyed every minute of it.  From the morning sickness to the uncomfortable sleeping positions to the first movement to the labor pain.  Call me crazy, but perhaps that’s why I have 5 children today when I thought I would never have any.

I have been doing a lot of thinking lately and don’t know if it’s a good thing or a bad thing, but am hoping and praying that I am making the right choices.  I feel like I am in the clouds most of the time.

I don’t know if you have read my previous posts about my past but it has not been an easy road.  But, I would imagine everyone has skeletons in their closet to an extent.  However, I have been doing a lot of soul searching and feel that the Lord is leading me down a certain path.  Now, I have not been one to always listen to reasoning, guess it’s the rebel in me.  But, I have had to deal with a lot of trials and tribulations in my life and now feel that there is a purpose and reason for it all.

How exciting it was to receive this wonderful package in the mail.  My kids were waiting in anticipation for the arrival of Nana Star and Moonman.

These books are wonderfully written by two sisters named Ellizabeth Sills and Elena Patrices who also happen to be the publishers and all-around creative-junkie entrepreneurs.  The characters were created by their grandmother and brought to life by them with vibrant and colorful picture books and huggable character plushies.

Each book contains vintage-inspired illustrations and old fashioned values and also come with storytime CD with sing-along songs.  And my children truly enjoyed the sing-along songs.

Wow, what a rough night I had, or better said we had! My hubby and I were up most of the night with one of my little ones.  She apparently has been having headaches.  I assumed it was due to dehydration, so of course would have her drink more.  But this headache was different, it actually woke her from her sleep.

After much questioning from Daddy and I, guess it happens when your parents are doctors, we concluded that she is experiencing migraine headaches.  Yes, imagine that, an 8 year-old with migraine headaches!!

Today’s society is different from the one I was raised in. But, we can still teach our girls morals, values and God’s way.

With the amount of exposure that our girls have to Un-Godly ways ever increasing it is up to us to guide them in the right direction.

A great friend and Godly woman by the name of Alyssa Avant has developed a packet that will help with wonderful tips to encourage our girls to say, ‘No’. Alyssa Avant is a Christian author, blogger, podcaster, speaker and business owner who’s desire is to turn the hearts of girls toward God. It is evident from all her works that she is making a great impact on our youth.

Wow, this weekend has been crazy!  It started with my hubby leaving for his annual golf trip with over 20 guys!  I’m not much into golf, but he loves it so, it is something he looks forward to every year.  A time when they play 2 rounds of golf a day and pretend to be Tiger..they play 2 rounds for 3 days straight and then 1 round the last day.

He will be coming back today and can’t wait to hear all his stories.  I actually miss him very much and the kids can’t wait to have their crazy daddy back too.

Rainy days can get dark and gloomy but we like to take advantage of the rain and play in the puddles.  My kiddos love to play in the rain and of course, the messier the better.

My kiddos also love to do crafty projects on rainy days, some of those include:

  • Finger painting - we have lots of artwork hanging in our ‘classroom’
  • Board games - our favorite is Sorry and Scene it - Disney
  • Making homemade play dough - made with flour, salt, water, vegetable oil, cream of tartar and food coloring

With a family of 7 like ours we are always on the run.  I am always concerned about the foods that they eat and try to make sure they are as healthy as possible.  It’s not easy to find healthy foods that are quick to make and that kids will enjoy eating.

On my quest to find easy to make healthy foods that kids would love, I found a great company called Full Tank Foods .  This company was developed by Dr. Whitney Anderson, a pediatrician and her husband.  Their goal was to develop quick, easy healthy foods that kids would actually enjoy eating.  More importantly parents would love them because they were made with organic products and vitamins.  The products also needed to taste good to attract little ones.  So, I decided to put them to the test with my children.

Having a large family can be quite costly.  I won’t even mention the clothes that is needed to keep 5 children looking somewhat decent, I will keep that for another day.  Today I will focus on FOOD.  Yes, something that was always running out in our home until I developed a system.

Having a family of 7 is a great task, a challenging one and and rewarding one.  Home schooling my children is wonderful, but having them home all day can wear a mom/chef out.  At first I was trying to make 3 to 4 meals a day and going just a little crazy, to say the least.  That quickly stopped when I started getting my children involved in the kitchen prep and cooking.
